For Your Good Health This Year Don’t Just Listen To Your Doctor


Each New Year, Like Each New Spring Evokes Emotional Feelings Of Inspiration, Change, Blossoming and Commitment.

With our New Year resolutions we feel, we hope, we want to make This Year our best one yet.

Sometimes our new year resolutions include wanting to get healthy, to lose weight, to stop smoking, to exercise more, to decrease stress, to feel better.  Or maybe the resolution is to continue this journey we started a year or more ago.

We can start small or continue trodding on our personal health path. But what is Good Health to you?  Do you feel that good health doesn’t need to be only on a physical level? Having good health doesn’t have to be what your general practitioner labels as good health.  Our health spectrum is a circle:  our connection to those close to us, our views towards the society around us, our value system, our mental health, our spiritual health, our environmental health. And what else?  All these “pins” on the spectrum affect our overall health.  Do you agree? What are your commitments this year?

We here at brightonyourhealth.com are very honored to participate in your personal journey to moving forward on your health plan.  As the author of this blog, adding my writing, trying to be inspiring, feeling a sense of fulfillment and offering my professional and personal passion to this all important topic of overall good HEALTH continues to be a very Healthy outlet for me.

Thank you to all the readers who have visited brightonyourhealth over the past year and to those who continue to return to read the articles. To the visitors who like the recipes and those who add their feedback through comments and contact via email.  For those who enjoy reading about the French and European culture. For those who just want to find realistic avenues to better their health plan. During 2011 brightonyourhealth saw over 26,000 visitors reading more than 70,000 pages from over 150 countries. The numbers keep rising every month. This is personal success because I started this project after my father’s brainstem stroke. There were no expectations, only hope. Hope that ONE person out there in the world wide web could think about striving towards their good health after reading on the site.  Thanks to your comments and feedback there is more than one of you reading and benefiting from the articles.  Thank you all. Oui, mes amis, this is only my view: the road to good health is not just what we eat nor how much we exercise.  It is a complete circle of our mental and spiritual well-being and our nutritional and physical activity status.  Our genetic background and our social and economic situation can add tweaks to our overall health. And when we are sick, access to good healthcare isn’t always a possibility.  So, me included, let’s all try to motivate each other to live in a positive mental, physical, prosperous and environmental good health plan.  Our lives depend on it and the lives of those we love and who love us.
