In 2002 Mary Brighton moved to Pau, France with her husband and two young children. 13 years and two more children later, Mary keeps busy with raising her kids, practicing her feeding tips and adding health tips, recipes and food ideas to the blog. She is currently writing a parent’s guidebook on how to feed teenagers using tricks and tips she learns living in France’s rich food culture.
In June 2014, Mary Brighton won a partial scholarship to attend the prestigious gastronomic Hautes Etudes du Goût (HEG) program. She completed the program in May 2015 and received her diploma with honors. Her thesis was entitled “Teenage Food Preferences: The Role of Taste, Odor and Emotion.”
Along with her passion for tasteful cooking and international food culture, Mary is also a registered dietitian in France, the United States and the United Kingdom. Her specialty is pediatric nutrition and she has a Masters degree in Human Nutrition and Exercise and Sports Science from Colorado State University and Bachelors of Arts from Rutgers University.
She is bilingual in French /English.
This blog was started because of and is particularly dedicated to my dad (Jim Brighton 1943-2012) who had a brain stem stroke in February 2009.
