How do YOU look at the Earth?
It’s April 22, 2010…Happy Earth Day everyone! A day to reflect how precious the Earth is to us all. Especially in light of the recent events with the volcano in Iceland and its effect on air traffic. The Earth, we aren’t taking care of it and yet, I find it hard not link this carelessness with what I see in some person’s behavior with their own health. As I stated in a previous post, I feel that being environmentally conscious also means being personally health care conscious. How is this linked?
If we choose a lifestyle or aim to balance our lifestyle with one that includes walking more, smoking less, cooking more, eating foods grown and produced locally this is good for the environment. And this is just a start. Choosing to drive our car less often, choosing to buy food that is produced locally, these two things are just only a beginning to help decrease carbon emissions in our environment. Also, by cooking more, by buying less convenience type food items, we use less plastic and produce less garbage. And in the end, who wins? Everyone does…the environment..our dear important Earth…and each one of us, in our hopeful goal of personal health reform.
So, on this annual Earth Day, a day of reflection and appreciation for our Earth and our environment, let’s focus too on how being environmentally conscious can also help us to be health conscious!
On a path towards taking control of our personal health reform!
Please, I know I have only touched the surface on how being environmentally conscious is connected with being health conscious. Give me more ideas! Would love to hear from you and share your comments…
