No school on Wednesdays…but here we are back again for yet another look at what are the Frenchie kids eating? And those American kiddies? Well, here it is: the menu for Day 15.

Hmmm… quite of interesting and weird stuff served on the Frenchies side! I will ask you readers, do you know what beignets with salsifis is? I haven’t even heard of this vegetable before. Salsifis…! They can be either white, red or black. Here is a link to a picture and explanations in French. Did you guess what this vegetable is? Wow, I am impressed they are serving this in the school cafeteria in Pau. If you cannot figure it out then tune in tomorrow and I will tell you what it is. And, the beignets are “donuts” but in this case they are dough cooked liked donuts, but made in a savory form. Can you guess how the potato salad with sardines is served?
